With the support of a Calgary Arts Development Community Microgrant, TRAction has been pleased to produce VINES through community organizing and relation-making. Under Melanie’s direction, VINES has enjoyed presentations as part of the first Calgary Climate Week at The Ampersand building as well as outdoors at Peace Park as part of The New Gallery’s Current series along the Bow River. With 15-25 performers for each event – all who hail from local communities – VINES continues to grow as an ecosomatic and relational practice both between humans and between humans and individual places.
More performances are coming up at the UCalgary School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape and in Camrose, AB as part of an upcoming Grasslands Conference. For more information about bringing VINES to your community, see here and here.
