Sandra and Melanie continue to collaborate on the co-directed project Just Breathe, Okâwîmâwaskiy, sharing an additional 10 immersive performances with post-secondary students at the University of Calgary as well as with the public in September 2025. Functioning as a cultural ‘solidarity practice’, Just Breathe, Okâwîmâwaskiy brings together methods from Euro-diasporic and Indigenous contemporary performance, site-specific and land-based performance, Indigenous ceremony, film and digital media, and clinical psychology. Through this joining of methods, Just Breathe, Okâwîmâwaskiy aims to consider affective and cross-cultural ways to address the climate crisis.
